Default rubbing cure?

Okay guys, another installment in the saga of my car enhancements. I got new shocks and Eibach springs along with new wheels installed on the car, but I think I made a mistake. The spring lowered the car about an inch, which is nice, but I got the 8-inch Volk Racing CE28N Time Attack wheels on the front and I now I have rubbing at the top of the wheel well when I make a very sharp turn. The rubbing's not too bad but I'm concerned. Did I blow it by getting the 8-inch wheels with the lowered springs? Do one of them gotta go? Or can I just have the alignment shop add a spacer or stiffen the anti-sway bar to compensate? Anybody know the answer to this or do I just have to experiment? Gotta say, the extra rubber and lowered springs make it stick even better than before.

Can you elaborate? I don't know what you're referring to when you say "offsets" and "roll the fenders".

These are the questions you should be asking BEFORE you purchase wheels.

The rim width isn't as important as the offset. The offset determines how far from center of the rim the actual face of the wheel is. This will determine how much rim will stick out from your wheel well.

Rolling your fenders helps to remedy some of this by bending the metal portion of your wheel well up and out of the way so your tires have clearance.

You need to find out your wheel offsets and your tire sizes before we can determine the best solution to cure your rubbing woes.

That's why I purchased the wheels at the TireRack, because they have a database with the accessories that will fit the car. Rolling the fenders requires some sort of metal press? that effectively flattens the fender raising it up a bit? I'm pretty sure the wheel offset is okay assuming that the TireRack knows what they're doing.

Don't assume tire rack knows the correct offsets. Look at inside of the wheels and post the numbers. i.e. +45 etc.....

The tire size involved might be more of the problem than the wheel width, each brand of tires has varying spec's for their tires. Depending on the degree of 'rubbing" you might only need more neg camber for clearance.

you need to let us know what the wheel size is. example 18x8+45 the last number that is + whatever is the offset.
you can find this on the wheel when it is off the car.

also you need to tell us your tire size 1 inch drop with 8inch wide wheels should not rub at all if you have the correct offsets

and I wouldnt trust tire rack personally it doesnt sound like you got staggard wheels wich means the rear is wider than the front. if tire rack knew anything they would have told you this.

you either have the wrong offsets or to wide of a tire on your front rims
