Default rubbing issues help

i just put on a set of 18x8 with 40 offset, tires are 245-40-18s i am rubbing in the rear only when i hit large dips in the road, i have about 2.5 inches between the tire and the fender but when i hit those dips it just rubs, anyone have any ideas for me? if i lower it an inch with stiffer springs would that work? if so what springs would be recommended?

yea i did read that i have a +40 offset "8.0" wheel: +40 offset (225 or 235 tires)"oh shoot ur right i see what i did wrong, i went with a 245 tire i should of have had a 235, thanks for your input everyone. its only in my rear wheel and when i hit a really deed dip going fast. luckily florida doesnt have many dips its just all flat rd. i do have that 2.5-3 inches between the wheel and the fender.

I think you can lower the car with those offsets. But you will need some camber and rolled fenders in the back...

the problem also lies in the fact that a 245/40 is taller than the stock wheel. you need a 245/35.
