Run Flats

I carry a small 12VDC air pump and a tire plug kit. Nail & screw punctures can be fixed with a tire plug. Of course if your tire gets cut, you're screwed unless you have your spare tire with you. On long trips I guess I should take the spare tire but for local driving I just carry my pump & repair kit, leaving the spare tire in the garage.

Run flats are heavier and harder side wall. I thought the wheel for a run flat is different as well. I don't think you'll be able to do it if you wanted. Run flats are not good for a car like ours.

I think you're right mosesbotbol. I read a pretty good article in "Rondel"; I think that's what it is called (tire magazine). Anyway, the jist of the article is that even though the next gen run flats are better than the originals, the lack of a monitoring system and the fact that the suspension is designed for standard tires, convinced me that run flats aren't a good idea.
