The S2000 is great in the snow provided you understand how to handle it and you have the proper shoes.

By the way...the S02's don't just suck in the snow, they suck in the cold as well. Once the temperature drops below 45 degF or so on a regular basis, you want to switch to something else. Even if there's no snow.

Either you haven't tried it, or you can't drive.

I can't wait to do the snow drags. Gotta represent the Toyo's!

I'm actually kind of excited for winter... this car really is such a blast to drive in winter

Wouldn't ground clearance be a significant problem on poorly plowed roads?

Yeah... I've driven in snow deep enough to go half way up my radiator... even with an AEM CAI and its fine

The only time I personally had a problem was in late winter when the snow would start to melt during the day, but would freeze again at night... if the roads weren't plowed then it was a bit dangeroud and you'd have to drive on top of the snow, not in the normal tire tracks.

Calgary has this plowing snow thing down pretty good. Only after a fresh, prolonged snowfall does it take a few hours for the plows to do all the main roads. I've driven the S through snow deep enough to completely pack the grill opening. The car just keeps going and going and going. It's amazing how well the engine seems to be able to breathe through snow - this was when I had the Mingster "snorkel" on. The first 6 inches of the intake was packed. As long as you don't rev it up too high, it'll get sufficient air.

chrisward:

Before you sell your VW Golf "snow car" better check the low ground clearance on the s2k against the depth of snow you get in your area. No snow tire will help you if you are "high centered".

Thanks,
Richard
