Default That same old wheel/tire question...

I have a set of 17x8/9+45 wheels on the way, currently lowered on S Techs with no fender work, and am debating going 215/245 or 225/255, as well as choosing between 4 tires I've narrowed it down to: BFG Sport Comp 2's, Hankook V12's, Falken FK453's, or Continental DW's. Current Pricing I have on them (shipped) are:

215/45,245/40:

BFG Sport Comp 2 : $453
Hankook V12 : $463
Falken FK453 : $469
Continental DW : $493
Kumho Ecsta XS : $635

225/45,255/40:

Hankook V12 : $457
BFG Sport Comp 2 : $463
Falken FK453 : $523
Continental DW : $535
Nitto NT05 : $595
Falken RT-615K : $659

As you can see I threw in some more performance oriented tires in there, I just don't think those tires are for me as the car doesn't get tracked/autox'd. I just need an all around good street performer, and still hopefully be good in the rain too.

You all have a suggestion on which tire and size I should go for given my wheels and ride height?

I'm actually starting to worry these wheels may be too aggressive for me. Time to start sifting through the RPF1 thread again...

If you are trying to avoid fender work then the answer is yes, they are too aggressive. I rubbed on that setup with 215/45, 245/40 on Espelir springs. You really have to be at stock height and max negative camber to make these work without a fender roll.

Personally, I'd say roll the fenders and go 225/255. I've been wanting to try the Conti DW's, always seem to get good reviews.

Thanks for the response, but man that is not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping with 215/245 I can make em fit with some neg camber. I guess fender work wouldn't be that big of a deal I just want to find someone reputable in my area to do it, which is proving difficult. What to do what to do..

8/9 +45? That should clear a 215/245 without fender work no problem. Just make sure your running -1.5 -2 camber up front and -2 -2.5 in rear.

That's a pretty good deal on those V12's. Where are you getting those?
