It matters. lol

In all seriousness, no the overall diameter of the wheel should be close enough to stock, that the speedometer would not be unduly affected. Maybe a couple mph either side at the most.

P-Zeros for the epic win.

Look at your options at the Tire Rack site. Click on "specs", and one of the data columns is "revs per mile". 255/40-17's are a little bigger in diamter (lower revs per mile), but maximum error is only going to be about 1%, nothing to worry about.

You are trying to choose between some very different tires.
Michelin Sport a/s Plus are all-seasons, B'stone RE070's are Extreme Performance Summer tires. They're optimized for different ranges of conditions. Also, there are multiple different "Pirelli PZero's". Which one?

First have to decide what your wants and needs are, then you can choose from a range of tires that meet them.
Do you want ultimate dry grip?
Max wet and dry grip?
Is there a possibility you'll be driving in cold/snow/ice?
Price a factor?
Tread life a factor?
Track usage and street usage?
