There's plenty of snow tires available for AP1 wheels. Tire Rack and Discount Tire carry the unbeatable Blizzak WS50/60 in those sizes, and they're cheap too ($100/tire).

I'm running Dunlop WinterSport 3D fronts and M3 rears in stock sizes. The grip on snow is unbelievable!

Blizzak WS-60's come in stock AP1 sizes, should offer similarly spectacular grip in the white stuff.

Going to 215's in the front won't buy you much if anything. Just like for other types of tires, the specific tire you run (i.e., make/model) is far more important than the size. Particularly in the snow, wider isn't necessarily going to be better.

That said, there is quite a selection of 215/55-16 winter tires available from Tire Rack, but then you'd have trouble finding rears of the same diameter (25.3" vs. 24.9" stock diameter).

I've been running Blizzak LM-22 here for four winters, on AP1 wheels. You actually don't want wide snow tires; I got 205 front and 225 rear, and they've been great.

^ Good point. Wider snow tires do not help. Just stick with stock AP1 sizes.

I am selling 4 Blizzak LM-22's mounted on Mille Miglia clear coated alloy rims in great condition. Tire sizes are 205/55/R16 and 225/50/R16. Tires have around 9000 miles on them with over 1/4" tread and the wheels are in excellent condition. I retired and didnt use them last winter and now I have a Jeep so I definitely wont be needing them. Price is $400.00 plus shipping. I am trying to get Charlie to put them on the site but he is having a problem with the pics I sent him. I do have them in a file that I can send if you are interested.
