Default Something wrong with car

Hey everyone,

I had new tires put on my car two days ago. Ever since then it feels like I"m driving a boat. The rear end is completely loose. Whenever I hit a bump it feels like i'm going to loose control, at high speeds my whole car feels like it's going to take off like an air plane, extremely wobbly. . I checked the rotation on the tires and they are all going the same direction. I replaced my old tires with the exact same new ones. Potenza RE050's

I have an 06 w/16000 miles.

I know this is going to sound like a Christmas Chestnut but:

Have you checked the tire pressures? And the torque on the lug nuts? And how did they balance the wheels?

I checked the torque, and they balanced the wheels on a balancer that does the road test. . if that makes any sense.

Same thing happened to me and I checked the tire pressure and one was at 40 psi and one was at 35 so I put them both at 34 psi and problem was gone.

Seriously I had that same exact feeling.

This may sound like an extra stupid question, but please understand we get all kinds on here, you didn't buy rears same as the fronts did you? they should be 245/40's , other issues already mentioned, uneven tire pressures, poor balancing, the release compound can also make some tires really squirrely for the first 150 miles or so though I have not noticed this too much with RE050's.

Make sure the rears are in fact the wider rear wheels. A local guy got new tires at a shop here and felt a wobbling on the highway. We stopped to check it out and the shop had mounted the 245 rear tire on the front 6.5" wheel and put it at the back. The front offsets DEFINETELY do not fit on the rear.

I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone! I checked the tire pressure this morning and it seems that someone put 50lbs. of pressure in each rear tire so after bring them back down to 34lbs. Everything seems to be okay again!

Thanks for all the help!
