Default spacer questions

im looking at a set of wheels thats 17x9 +45 all around, im not lowered yet but i will be on s-tech which i think its 1-1.2 drop.

im wondering if the "spacer" will help me not to modify my fenders ?

im also asking how this "spacer" works ?

if i can even get something like +40 or even +35 and use the spacer?

thanks in advance

No. Spacers sit in between the hub and the wheel, "spacing" the wheel out even further that normal. The lower offset (+40, +35) will stick out even further. You need a higher offset around +63 if want to run 9" all around and not modify your fenders.
