Spoon wheels damaged
It looks like the Spoon wheels don't like car wash wheel cleaners. I went through one after a long day of autocrossing and now they look greenish. Is there anything that would help or do I need to have them repainted? I guess the flat black Spoon paint is not too durable? Any ideas?
Sorry dude but I can't help but giggle a little at this one.
First off, you take your S2000 through a car wash when it says right in the owners manual that car washes can damage the top mechanism and seals from high pressure water. Second, you do it with aftermarket wheels on it. What were you thinking?
To see if the greenish tint will come off, I would first try something mild like dishwashing soap and a brush. You might even try a cleaner like denatured alcohol. If that doesn't work, you might need to try a cleaner wax, then step up to a polish if you need to, assuming it's ok to use waxes and polishes on flat black wheels. (I dunno, never had 'em.)

I guess I'm not one to baby the car much. After a long day at the track racing the car for 100+ miles, the car wash the next day typically does not do any damage (compared to the crap that hits it at the track). This car is slowly moving towards becoming a dedicated track car.
The bottom line appears to be that the wheel cleaner they used must have been very corrosive compared to my usual car wash place. I'll have them refinished after the season is over, the wheels are other wise in mint condition. For the street i have a set of MS Ce28's the Spoon wheels are my track wheels.
I'm still surprised that the wheels would fade. You would think that a race wheel would have an extra durable finish on it. I might use this opportunity to refinish them differently. Maybe a black anodized or powdercoated finish?

So you tried some cleaners and the finish is definitely ruined? That does seem odd.
Use armorall dont put to much just enough to cover the whole face of the rim then wipe off the shine with a dry terry towel till the shine goes away use water to then it will look new again chaulky flat black give it a try it worked for me. USE THE WIPES NOT THE SPRAY!!!
