SSR GT3's
Jim I was told to ask you about this from the wash and wax guru (Wanabe).
Wanabe said you would be able to answer these questions.
Its regarding SSR GT3's.
1. Are the lips on these rims Polished or Anodized?
2. Is this wheel a true three piece wheel or just a two piece wheel.
I just came back from a wheel retailer and he told me the lips are anodized and that by polishing the lips I ruined the lip.
let me know Jim.

Jim,
Do you know if I can take apart my wheels myself, or should a professional do it. Also how much should I pay to get them taken apart.
Thanks for the help.
I just got my KDW's from you, nice tires!!!!!!!

The SSR like Jim said is a true 3-piece wheel.
We had to take mine apart by hand before getting it done in the special BLACK CHROME finish. Note this is NOT the Satin finish that Tirerack sells and it's a one-off set of rims for sure. At night it almost "flashes" when light hits it
It's not the strongest wheel nor the lightest but it does have a very clean look to it and SUPER easy to clean with a wet rag...haha
I have them on my m3:

S4play, thanks for the response.
I just sent you a PM.
How hard was it to take the wheels apart. Do you have to seal them when putting them back together???

I have experience with SSR GT3 and they are great wheels.
They are very sturdy and good quality. They are true 3 piece wheels with anodized lips.
I sold mine that was on my 350Z about 6 month ago.
I heard that SSR GT3 will be in production again by Tanabe since they bought SSR.

On the GT3 its clear coated, on the SP1 Professor's its anodized.
By the way update on my wheels, what a nightmare, i took them to a reputable shop to get refinished, well I found out all they did was paint right over my old paint, they did not strip it in anyway, basically just sprayed right over. I got so pissed and went bezerk at the wheel shop, needless to say, they are going back to get redone, who know's when I will be getting them back!!
