Default SSR MS1

hey people!! im fairly new to this forum, infact im a NEW s2k owner! i installed half of a sound system already, but i wanna get some rimsss!! lol

ive been reading alot on this topic of wheels, and the offset for these cars make it much more complex then my civic!

ive been interested in SSR MS1's... basically, i wanted to start a topic of any experiences everyone has had with ssr. also, how the following will fit my car (stock suspension):

18"x8.5" +43 fr
18"x10" +62 rr

havent decided on the tire as yet... but what do you ppl think!?!?

stock suspension you should be fine, you will prob rub in the front if you drop 1" or more... I had 18x9+55 and I rubbed in the front, but I was also at about a 1 finger gap

really eh.. hmm.. theres so many variables to consider when buying rims (especially with a dish and an offset like the s2k's)!! the size chart on the ssr website is super confusing. i dont know what the difference is between the normal disk, super low disk, hyper disk etc..... and/or which disk applies to the s2k. ive emailed them, just waiting for the response.. i will post any findings i get.

thanks for the response, i will probably end up getting a more suitable offset such as a +55 in the front, because i do plan on lowering the car in a yr or 2..

thanks again!

take a look here for some more info, this is more for stock suspension:

if you are only planning to lower in a year or two, you could save up and roll your fenders when you lower it, I had a quote here for $60 a fender for rolling, that'll get what you want to fit no problem

IMO, the wheels don't look that good. Somehow I don't like that mesh.

Ya, i read that link many times to try and understand the proper fitting, and like i said, there are so many variables to consider. for insatnce, the bigger the "dish" on the rim, the less width i can get on the rim? or would i just need a higher offset? the sticky is GREATTTT and it helped alot (props to spa-zz), but this sticky was only the beginning of the road for correct rim sizing! lol for me anyhow.

i'm really trying to avoid rolling the fender, althought if it comes down to it, i probably will if i have to.

im surprised i havent seen many ssr rims on many s2k's.. why is that!? quality issue?

SL super low disk means maximum lip (or dish if you prefer) for the wheel width. HP hyper disk is smallest lip and most brake clearance, usually for cars running a BBK. The 10" +62 SL rear should work fine and give you a nice size (59mm) lip. If you don't want to roll fenders, a 8.5" +55 would work better for the front. A 8.5" +55 is available in both SL (46mm lip) and ND (34mm lip). The ND would clear brakes for sure, you would need to check and see if the SL disk would clear the front brakes if you want maximum lip. Hopefully that wasn't too confusing.

lip size doesn't matter, only offset does as that is the distance from the mounting surface to the edge of the rim regardless of lip size. Like nate said, more lip = less brake clearance if you were to ever go the BBK route, although I bet whatever size you get would be fine.
