Stagger ap1 vs. ap2...?
Alright so im about to buy a new set of wheels/tires soon. i know absolutely nothing about all this so im reading up. anyways reading the sticky it says " ...the rear wheels are 1" wider than the fronts for the AP1, and 1.5" wider for the AP2". SO my question is what setup with non OEM wheels would produce better results? the 1" stagger or 1.5" stagger?
Also how wide? example... (better handling going from 6.5 &7.5 to 7.5 & 8.5) ? wider = better? lol
Sorry for all the questions... thanks!

It mostly depends on what you plan on doing with the car. One of the reasons Honda increased the stagger on the AP2's was the old;
"some drivers were experiencing inappropriate vehicle rotation at the point of disappearing talent" issue (i.e. snap oversteer) If you want to autocross/track the car I recommend 17's as there is a much wider variety of rubber available. The Volk sizing of 17" with a 7.5"F and 9"R is a very popular choice. the wider the tire(and wheel for proper fit) the greater the contact patch and overall level of grip. Once again though it goes back to what kind of driving do you want to do and how much money do you want to spend. I like keeping high end tires on the car, but lots of people go the budget route and never have a problem. I do drive like the proverbial bat from Hades though, and only get about 7,000 miles per set of rears. It' gets expensive.
Good Luck,
Mike

The tire is going to make the difference in the handling of the car. You can use a range of wheel widths with different tires. I like to keep about the same amout of front to rear stagger on the tires.
If I can help just let me know.

I'm currently running 17 x 8.5 +54 offset wheels and 245/40-17 RE-01R's all around on my set up. In order for me to run this set up I needed to get Higher spring rates (I bought coilovers) and put alot of negative camber.
Con: Feels slower and can consume more fuel. If your running a wider set up you could damage your fenders.
PRO: Better grip, faster corner speeds; awesome for track setup.

thx guys, basically i just plan for mostly street use with occasional track. If i went 7.5" front and 9" in the rear would there be some pretty decent street tires i could get? lol sorry guys... new to this...
