Default 18x8.5 +44 Rears

I am considering running a 18x8.5 +44 rear wheel with a 255/40/18 tire. With the car lowered, the fenders rolled, and the euro alignment, do you think that it will clear fine or will I rub?

Thanks for any insight!

You can run a 255 on the 8.5 +44 but it will have no "stretch" affect on that tire as your side walls will still be "bulging out" in a sense. You would have to relocate your bumper tab too and with the -2 camber in the rear, It still would not clear, if your tucking tire. If you leave about a 1.5 fingergap with your suspension set more stiffer on dampening, its do-able.

245 would be your best bet

yea, the guys who run rgII's and 255's have to do some serious work to get it to clear. that's on a 8.5+50.

I gotta give it to you. You've gotten a lot more reasonable and realistic in your advice lately

I am running a 255/35/18 rear with a 18x8.5 +43 wheel and it rubs. Fenders are rolled and bumper tab is relocated. Alignment is at stock specs and it only rubs on big bumps. Doesn't bother me too much. If you have stiff suspension it will rub a little less.

Thank you very much for the response. So with a 245/40/18 tire I would not rub? Thanks!
