OK! Before I pull the trigger on those gorgeous squared MF-10s, some questions....

If they're a 8 inch squared set-up, is it possible (and/or advisable) to run 215/245 on these?

 

Technically you can, but a 245 on an 8" wheel will be like driving around on muffins. Handling will be inconsistent and soft due to the massive overhang / bulging of the sidewall. Pair that with a sloppy tire like the Hankook v12 and you will have a car that handles like a Camry.

 

So 8 inch wheels = 235 all 4 corners?

Possible yes still think the wheels aren't ideal widths but yeah thats perfectly doable.

So, if I end up getting this specific set, I'm looking at matching with 225/45 tires, and anything besides that would really be sub-optimal.

 

I'd run the 215/245 staggered combo before 225/45 all around. 8" rear isn't ideal, but it's only 1/2" difference compared to an OEM AP2. There is some compromise here but the end result would be at least comparable to OEM.

 

I'm really torn. I was going to go with the bronze allegeritas in 7.5/8.5, and just saw the for sale post on my dream rims. I'm really waffling here, want to keep stock stagger but holy cow MF10s in s2k offsets are for sale!!! Sigh.

 

More Barbie-for-Boys? Been there! The car was engineered for a staggered tire, wheel, and suspension setup. Change any one and handling will be different. Unlikely better.
