just wondering what you would be hoping to achieve with the staggered tyres? I would have thought the general idea would be to get as much tyre you could get on an appropriately sized rim. Not sure how much staggering the tyres would do but I would have thought that any effect you might be hoping to get from the tyre stagger could be similarly achieved by adjusting alignment?

remember, there is much more to running a non-staggered set up than just slapping them one. It's going to change the handling characteristics. For instance, when I went to non-staggered, I had to change the dampning stagger on my coilovers, throw a stiffer bar up front, and removed the rear bar completely to get it to handle the way i wanted it to.

Well, running staggered tires on non-staggered wheels could be due to fitment in the front with factory fenders. Or it could be to try to minimize oversteer

to get proper fitment, u would be better off doing some fender work. to minimize oversteer, proper bars, aligment might achieve that much better.

After going from staggered to non-staggered on the stock suspension, I would never ever go back.

Understeer is abated, and oversteer can always be dealt with.

I also now have the ability to swap tires from any corner to any other corner to suit a particular track based on tire wear.

@ C32B: after reading your blog, its a pity you're not in California to join the S2K challenge. We have so many s2ks here that track that virtually every mod has documented results as well as how they interact with other mods. We also have quite a few drivers that run shockingly fast times on the OEM suspensions.

Good blog post! I too am in the process of going non-stag. I need to determine what kind of front bar to use with my setup & front camber settings to dial in.

Hi psychoazn,

Sadly the number of S2k's locally are both small and dwindling fast. I have a very small reference to work with which is why I rely heavily on the experience of S2ki folks on what kind of build/setup I might find success with.

I do wish I could learn more from the experience you guys have but for now, I have to be content with trials on my own setup and figuring out what works while juggling the driver learning curve...

Do let me know if u have any criticisms/feedback on my blog and feel free to add a comment to the page, I always keep an open mind to discussion

When I went non staggered I took the rear sway bar off and bought a used saner bar that had a 4th hole drilled and upgraded endlinks. Most of the time I use it on what would be the medium setting. I've used the firm setting on some of the faster auto-x's cause its calmed the car down. I can't imagine why you would need the use of the 4th hole but it was there when I bought it so whatever. Im in the process of designing a custom blade type bar with a lever to adjust the bar and mount that under the hood.

Have you tried out different front sway bars with your non-stag setup?
