Default Steel wheels and wheel spacers?

hi guys,

i ordered a set of 16in steelies w/blizzaks for my mazdaspeed 3. stock wheels are 18in w/summer tires, and this car will be my winter DD, so i needed something better.

i mounted a front wheel the other day, and it is really, really, really close to the calipers. i was thinking of ordering either 3mm or 5mm wheel spacers.

my question is, has anyone used wheel spacers w/steel wheels? i checked out h&r's site, they have spacers specific for the ms3...but i also saw some random vendor's site, and the spacers they sell were "not for use with steel wheels"...

thanks for any info

We do not carry the spacers but H and R is very good. A 3 mm spacer should be fine.

Why do you need a spacer? The distance between the caliper and wheel should not change with bumps...

My Prodrives cleared the Stoptechs by 1mm (credit card BARELY fits in).
