Default Still Rubbing in the rear and its destroying my tires

Hey s2ki,

So Recently i had put on 17x9 +45 in the Front and 17x9.5 +36 in the rear Enkie RPF-1. The front are perfectly fine no rubbing. BUT the back is ridiculous, im running 255/40 on the rear with 3.5 camber and i am still rubbing. I went to Jeff (minitoyota) at evans tuning and had him roll/pull/relocate everything. He basically did the max that he could. I am currently on Buddy Club Coilover and have them set on 15 in the rear. i was told i should possible get camber arms and run more camber- but i really dont want to.

Should i maybe drop to a 245/40 tire?
should i see if i should have more work done to the car by jeff?

Any advice guys will be awesome.

Thanks

Bryan

245/40 tires will give you 5mm less outside width to deal with. If you don't like that option, it's time to start pulling the fenders.

PS: Your wheels don't fit, yo.

Honestly, at this point I'd swap out the rear wheels to a more reasonable offset before I destroyed the fenders trying to get these things to fit. That 17x9 +45 in back would be a LOT easier to work with.

yeah i know but i bought them right off my buddies S running the same exact set up and never had an issue. So i think i just need more fender work done because im rubbing right where the rear and side fender meet.

Shouldn't this be in wheels and tires?

Options:

1. Cut your quarters and run overfenders.

2. Pull fenders more (wait nvm you already said their paper thin and are pulled to the max they could be)

3. Run more camber

4. Do what you said and try a 245 tire.

5. Raise the car.

6. Get new wheels.

A 245/40 should help. I heard it's a PITA to get a 255/40 to fit on a 17x9.5 +38. How did your friend get it to work? This guy here got 245/40 to fit. I think he shaved the rears completely. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/855...#entry20399663

if your willing to spend the money to get new tires and only f up your rear panel more just get over fenders and trim the get it over with and you will some room and it will probably look better.
