Default Stolen rays lug nuts....

Just wondering about the rays lug nut that you need a key-socket to remove...if it is universal on other rays lug nuts or not?? In other words, if I have a set of rays lugs, can I use that key-socket to remove other sets of rays lugs??

I highly doubt that Rays made only one key pattern. As with most other locking lugnut makers, they'll have a series of different key patterns. The chances of someone else with Rays lugs having the same key as you would be ONE in as many different key patterns as Rays makes.

Depends on the type you buy too. I've got two sets of the duralumin lugs, and the key works on both. The only person who can take is someone else who has an identical set. Same with the Mugen lugs. Your best bet is just to order a set of locks from Mcgard, they make a tuner set too for smaller lug openings and they color match etc.

I agree, Mcgard sells tuner lugs and locks that weight the same amount. I have also found that the quality of mcgard powder coating is much better then say Muteki or Kyokugen lugs. Also the Duraluminum lugs are anodonized so they will probably fade very quickly.

Yep. Mine look faded already after one summer of use.

I want to say that Rays has 13 different keys. I believe that is what I was told.

Again Rays makes more than ONE type of wheel lock. All Wheelmate products are manufactured by RAYS aren't they? So they offer 13 different styles, but as far as the duralumin your only options are standard and extended----they all use identical keys. What's the likelyhood that I bought two sets of the duralumin lugs and both keys were interchangeable. Just get mcGard ones at least those are unique to each set.
