i just found out my wheels were not stripped, the shop lied and said that they had stripped the wheels, but i saw under the chiped paint that the stock finish under the powdercoat, yellowed by the heat from the powdercoating. The shop took back the wheels and they are going to strip them and sand blast the wheels again, im worried about having any other work done at that shop so i will take it elsewhere, im thinking about having the wheels polished. Should i just have the wheels stripped or stripped and powdercoated if i want the wheels polished later, or should i just have them stripped? i wanna know how i should have the wheels prepped before i take them to the polisher? thanks.

honestly what would be hot and never done before..

sandblast them and leave em sandblasted. ;-)

but yeah for a true powdercoat job u need to get them sandblasted.

btw it is a magnetic charge(using electricity) their is a negative wire attatched to the wheel and the powderocat is positively charged thus making it stick evenly over the surface when sprayed.. it holds the powder long enuff so when u bake it, it coats the entire surface similar to ceramic glaze.

electricity is used to create a MAGNETIC charge. for mr " i know my shit above" that clearly knew but didnt know

as far as sandpaper vs stripping. both would do same job.. but sanding is like taking a knife to a gun fight. or like sanding a whole car w/ a sanding block rather than using powered tools.
