Tire Advice Needed
A couple of years back, I purchased a set of RE050A (non-PP) through TireRack. Recently, one of the front tires was punctured by a nail. My local tire shop doesn't recommend repairing it as there was some sort of line around the shoulder that the tech claimed was a weakness point.
I would like to get my car back on the road and was hoping to get some advice.
Given that the remaining good tires are in excellent shape with plenty of thread, I would like to reuse them as much as possible. Although most of the times I use my car as a commuter, I drive aggressively at times. Also, although a novice, I do attend a couple of track events.
Given this, what would be my best option as far as replacements? Would mixing the stock RE050 be a good idea for street and occasional track duty?

First off if the nail is in the tread and not the shoulder I would say you can plug it. If the tire was run on flat I would not repair the tire. I also would not want to run the tire on the track that has been repaired. I would just not want that tire to be an issue at high speeds.
I also would not recommend mixing tires if you are going to be tracking the car.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

Thanks for the response, Jim.
I rarely take out my s2k. I took it to work one day and got home safely without ever knowing my tire was punctured. Several days later, I noticed the tire was under-inflated and discovered a nail in the thread (not in the shoulder).
Jim, If you still have those RE01s on sale, please let me know. Currently, I'm running 225/45/17 and 255/40/17.
Thanks,
Paul
