Default tire question

Just wondering how a 255/45/17 tire will fit most people always run the 40 instead of 45 is there a reason for that? Trying to do a squared setup

the tire will be taller (more sidewall) than a 40 series.
Most people run the 40 to maintain the stock rim/rubber ratio

255/40 is already slightly oversized diameter compared to stock. 255/45 will look strange and also have negative effects on gearing, speedo accuracy, etc.

Why does it matter how it would look? It would have negative effects on the car being much taller than stock. It would likely cause rubbing issues as well.

You asked how it would look not how would it affect the car. No attitude here just trying to get to the actual point.
