Default Tire size question

Hello all, im sure this question has been asked time and time again,
but i couldnt find a solid answer

what kind of tire sizes would u recommend for RPF1s in
17x8 +45
17x9 +45

i see a lot of people runing 235/255 and others running 215/245 and sometimes 225/245/255

can someone explain the reasoning behind each?

Im not too worried about any rubbing. my fenders are already rolled and tab relocated.
I just wanted to get some insight on tire sizes

Thanks!

here is how my car sits now atm with stock tire sizes 215/245

I'd go 225/45, 255/40. Very close to stock stagger, diameter, and is good match for the wheel width. If you wanted a wider front tire like a 245/40 then you should go with a 9" wheel up front.

Agreed. past that the front starts to bulge, which is ok if you can clear it. It just doesn’t look as desirable to some and you get more sidewall movement, which numbs turn in response. Your current stock tire sizes would look good, or you could bump it up to the next size as mentioned and your sidewalls would be pretty strait up and down front and back, no real stretch. If you want a little stretch, go with stock sizes.

I'd go 255r / 235f . 235 should fit well on an 8" wheel

I'm running 235/255 combo. Love the balance and feel. 235 fits very well on the 8" wheel indeed. The 235 should have the same amount of bulge on an 8" rim as the 255 has on the 9" rim.

I would say that with the 255 on the rear you will need some negative camber and maybe a fender lip roll.
