I am going to go with the RE-11s I don't expect them to be much different than the S03 as far as traction goes, but I guess we will see.

I would replace all 4, but the fronts have 7/32 on them.

The RE01R is made to be the softest tire available for the street tire class in Autox. I personally would not use it on the street you'd be lucky for it to last over 10,000 miles. I would start by comparing the tires on tirerack. They do fairly good evaluations. Different tires front and rear definitly impact the balance of the car no doubt. Oversteer and understeer are always caused by whichever end of the car looses grip first.

ive heard it can be ok to mix/match as long as the tires have similar ratings. say they are all high performance summer, or all max performance summer, and have similar treadwear ratings

Yeah, the S03s are 220 and the RE11s are 180, I think that would be a decent combo. IMO the car could use a bit more grip in the rear anyways

About the rear grip...I put a CR front sway bar on my 07 and it helped a lot. I was able to put down much more power in the corners before the rear would let go. About $100 bucks from hardtopguy and very easy to install.

BTW- I still have the CR bar. You can try it and see if you like it. I do plan to put it on the 09, but want to learn the stock setup first. Let me know.

Yeah, but treadwear rating means nothing. RE050 are 140 treadwear, and they are nowhere near as good of a tire as RE11s

Agreed, I always thought it was a bit odd that they were rated 140 right with the RE070s which are deffinately a softer tire, exemplified by the fact that they are on the CR. Anyway, all the more reason to go with the RE11s
