Default Tire Question

According to the fitment guide I can fit 275/40ZR17 on a 9'' wheel with an offset of 60 or more... my Volk wheel is 64 and 9''...

tires gonna be 275/40ZR17 Toyo Proxes R888 to replace my 25540/17 Toyo Proxes R888 (same wheel just wider) reason why I wanna go so big? I dont like skinny tires or that hellagay stuff and my car spin those 255s like nothing.. ( I drag race my car) they sticky once they get hot... but still spinning...

tirerack only has ~9 according to them... or I can jsut go to 255s again but Im highly considering them 275s

I think a 255/40 is a better fit for a 9" wheel but you can squeeze a 275 on there. One other issue is diameter, 275/40 is almost 1" larger diameter than stock and there is no such thing a 275/35 which would be ideal. Not a huge deal but it does affect gearing which may help (ie being able to stay in 4th gear) or may not depending on your power level and trap speed.
