Well i use the treadwear ratings to determine how sticky the tires is vs how long it will last, i thought that the treadwear was unaversal jsut like per say the size of the tire. Obviously the s02 and s03 are the best choices but they are also the most expensive. How do Yokohammas offerings compare. I am basicaly looking at preformance vs price. I also think that mildly aggressive is the incorrect word choice. I never reach the limmits of adhesion with so2 on the street, and very rarely reach them on the twisties. How do the fusions compare with the re750. The life of the tire is also a very important factor. I may be rambling its late, thanks for the help so far.

I did not see the Toyos listed in the tires you are considering. I really like my Toyo Proxy T1-Ss...just a thought

I put the ES100's on my car ... I am on my second set of rears and first set of fronts with these tires. I got 16000 miles on the first set of rears. Is handling different than the SO2's ... yes! Have they affected the way I Drive ... absolutely not.

I just ordered a rear set of S-03s for my car, I went with the 245/45/16 setup in back. The front S-03s look great after 12k miles but the rears are worn out in the center, good on the edges.

I wonder how a set of 225/50/16s would have worn. But I have no complaints about dry or wet performance with the S-03s.

The front tires will wear out the inside edges first because of the negative camber. Check the inside edges of the front tires - you need to remove the front tires from the wheels and rotate them to the opposite side, so that they will wear evenly.

If the center of your rear tires is wearing out faster than the edges, use less air pressure, until the wear is even. Overinflated tires wear out the center first.

The front tires look great all the way across.

I think the rears are wearing in the middle more because I am using a 245 section tire rather than a 225 tire. The center groove on the S-03 is almost freakin' smooth, it looks like an F1 tire after a race. The outside tread is perfect. If I wasn't worried about punctures I would just leave them on a little longer, there is enough tread everywhere else that they still work great in the rain.

I run the tires at 32 PSI so I don't know how much lower I could go without worrying about temp problems from the underinflation.

Anyway, I would be buying tires every 10k or 12k miles whether I used the S-02s or the S-03s so it's no big deal to me.
