I run the Direzza ZII on my 03 w/stock wheels. It's a great tire for this car.

I get about 18k on the rear and about 25k on the front running 30psi all around on the OE sizes.

I have a 2007 with 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 on Volks CE28 (width 7 1/2" frt, 9" rear) and just replaced some RE 01with RE11a ( at Discount tire). I noticed a significant difference in turn-in feel (RE11a felt "lazy"/ slower turn in) and they seemed to lack rear grip. I had been running a stock alignment and decided to go more aggressive on camber and to raise the tire pressure 3# to address the different "feel" from the new tires. I went to -1 degr frt camber, -2.2 degr rear and with the added tire pressure the handling greatly improved...still a little softer on turn-in but very acceptable. Ride is good, but not much different from RE 01.

I have driven most of the tires you mentioned and recommending one is difficult bc it all depends on what you want form your tire and how and where you drive.

In my pinion I'd rate the tires as follows:

Summer extreme performance tires (warm weather only):

1) Ado8 Yoko - best for all around pref/handling with both wet and dry capabilities...$$, and short wear life.

2) RE11A - a step down on performance but a more forgiving DD tire...slightly quieter, slightly better ride but slower than AD08

3) Michelin Pilot Super Sport - very capable street tire, with good dry/wet characteristics, good balance but "softer side walls. a good DD tire, but not very good on a track or very aggressive street use.

4) S04 is less capable than the #3 and really doesn't match the driving characteristics of S2000, IMO

All season:

The only all season I'd recommend is a Michelin A/S 3, W/Y rating. It is nearly as good as #3 but can be driven year round in moderate climates...although it doesn't like deep snow.

As did I, and I think the price was 632 as well (in CA).

I bought this car with Yokohama S.Drives on it, these should be a nice upgrade!

Give the RE11A some time to break in. My RE11 felt a little mushy and loose until they had some miles/cycles on them.
