Just ordered the RE050 from TireRack. It will be here in 2 days. They rule!

I have RE750's on the rear and they handle well but not nearly as good as the SO3's I had on before.

The stock tires are really good tires. I just finished a track day at Streets of Willow this past Friday and while this was my first track event, I was very impressed.

Firestone place could not find S03s in the right size. Not to mention, as I understand from reading several posts on this board, S03s don't compare to S02s, which are discontinued. I went with the RE050, and will stick with that until/if I decide to change.

Thanks for your opinion 4xfordbronc. I liked the stock tires fine in the summer when I bought the car, but the are not kind in the winter and rain as it turns out. i will just have to be careful, or drop a wad on winter tires. i think this little incident will prevent that.

I had RE750s on my GSR and on the rears of my last S2000.

They are not quite as sticky as the stocks, but much better in rain. They are still a performance tire, though. Many here are generally happy with them.

I'm having some put on the front of my current S2000 this week, actually.

Pretty good tire. The price and wear make it a sweet deal. They're about $40 less than the S02s. Also, get them from Tire Rack. I'm able to get a pair, have them installed at a local shop (a good rated one from TireRack) AND have a baseline dyno done for less money than one of the chain stores would want for these tires.
I had the 750's on my S for 8 months before I bought AP2 rims. I was very happy with them. Great on the road. Wet or dry.

S02s are discontinued? I went to the Tirerack site and they still have em' in stock. Are they just selling the last of them, or is the idea that they are discontinued only a rumor?

No, they're not discontinued. This rumour has been around since the first year the S2000 came out. Some people get sucked into this false information and spread it around like they think it's fact. Because of their unique application and price, some tire dealers will not stock them and won't bother to get them, so they tell their customers they've been discontinued.
Our local Bridgestone tire shop will bring them in lots of a dozen or so but they won't just bring in a couple.
