Default Tire size for aftermarket wheels

Just picked up some CE28N in s2k fitments:

17x7.5 +50
17x9 +63

Wondering best tire size, and coming up with various info when searching forums.

Would 225/45 front and 255/40 rear be best? Trying to maintain stock contact patch or close. AP1.

Thanks!

You can do a 215/255 stagger. A 225/255 stagger or a 215/245 stagger. With a 7.5" front, 215 would have a more ideal width profile. 225 will be rather bulged on most the extreme summer width tires and feel a bit more vague in the steering wheel in performance driving. The 225 may still offer you a slight increase in total grip at the limit however.

Ok so 215/245 it is. What about recommended sidewall for both?

45/40 sidewall F/R? or 45/45?

Edit: Just used that TireRack upgrade garage - told me go with 225/45 and 255/40.

Why do people not understand the sidewall size on tires???? 215/45/17 in front and 245/40/17 in the rear is correct.

Exactly why I kept asking for sidewall sizes. Trying to make sure I don't have some skinny stretched rubber bands for tires, or huge balloons either.

Thanks all.
