Default TIRE SIZE QUESTION

sorry guys this is kind of a dumb question (more like an easy question to answer), but ive never been good at tire/wheel/offset/stretching/etc etc.....you get the picture. any ways my question is, if im currently running a 245/35 on a 9 inch wide rim, what would be the next lowest size down? meaning "less tire". if i go any bigger than 245/35 i will rub, but theres not a lot of options for 245/35....thanks in advance for your help guys.

18's? 235/35 would be the next size down, I doubt the selection is much better. 225/40 should have a nice selection but I would much rather run the 245/35 on a 9" wheel.

17? or 18?

In a 17 there is a 235/40. its slightly taller but narrower= more stretch.

What is the wheel size? Let me know the size and the offset and I can make a better recommendation.
