Default tire sizes for my s2000

Hey guys i have recently bought the work CR KAI wheels for my honda s2000.
the size is (front) 18x7.5 (rear) 18x8.5.
i have HSD street/track coil overs as well.
i just need to know what size rubber to get for it that would give it a nice look when i set the suspention?
i have been told to get 225/40/18 all round or i can put 235/40/18 on the rear but it may rub and they told me to get kumo tires as well.

what size and brand of tires do you guys think i should get??
i dont have a clue in tires so your help would really help thanks

What are your wheels' offsets? Impossible to make a recommendation on tire sizes without knowing this.

FWIW, 245/35-18s in back might be less likely to rub than 235/40s.

Regarding "get kumo [sp] tires", most major brands make great tires, mediocre tires, and crap tires. Go to www.tirerack.com and root around in there a while, tons of info including test results, survey results, and reviews of tons of tires.

Most important is to get tires that are appropriate for your wants/needs/usage:
dry grip only?
wet/dry grip?
possibility of snow/ice/cold-weather usage?
track or autoX?
tire life important, or max grip?

etc.

I've been running 255/35/18's on a 9.5 wide rear with no problems.

I was thinking of going 265/35 or 275/35 if I can find anyone running them without problems.

245/35-18 rears shouldn't be a problem, maybe 255/35-18 (max width on 8.5" wheel).
Up front you might have rubbing issues with 225/40-18. Are the fenders rolled? If not, I'd probably be looking at 215/40-18 or maybe 225/35-18.

I certainly wouldn't do 225 all the way around. Try to get as much rubber in the back as you can with those offsets. You might want to check the FAQ which has an offset listing and will tell you whats the largest tires you can run with those wheel widths

215/40, 245/35 will be your best chance of not rubbing while keeping stock stagger. I would not run same size tires on staggered wheels.

I agree with Nate. The problem is with the offsets you have I can see rubbing. Some negative camber and maybe a fender lip roll may be needed.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

well i put 225/40 on the front and they were fine but i put 245/35 and they are to big they stick out of the car like 30mm at some point the only way to fit them in would be if i put a wide body kit on or if i put a massive camber (which i dont want to do) so what im going to do is change the rears to 225/40 as well.
thanks for your help guys.

There is no way they stick out 30mm unless you gave us the wrong offset. If they did stick out that far, simply switching to a 225 tire would not fix the problem. Rolling the inner lip of your fender is a better option than undersizing the tire. You can easily run -2 camber in the rear with only a minor compromise of very slight uneven tread wear.
