Default tire sizing issues

Ive researched for some time now. Still yet to find a definitive answer. So all help GREATLY appreciated. Pics would be nice to for reference. Im looking to get some pf01's. Staggered. 17X8/17X9 offsets are +50/+60. Question is. Can I run a 245/45 up front and 275/40 out back. Overall diameters are near perfect. Will these fit with minor modification or none? Stock height vs dropped. Dont want crazy camber etc. Looking for stock alignment fitment. Thanks for any n all help guys

Im not sure why you want to run those tire sizes on those wheel sizes because they will be pretty bulged and the car will likely feel pretty sloppy. To answer your question you will need to at least roll your fenders flat and relocate the tabs on the rear.

Ok, and what sizes are reccommended on those exact wheels? Basically just wanting as much tire as functionally possible without destroying ride quality.. this is a street car/occassionally 1/4 mile, thats it

Edit: so after some more research, thinking a 225/45 front and 255/40 rear. On the +50/60 offsets, think those size tireswll fit with no modifications? Anyone able to confirm that? Any pics of aftermarket wheel/tire setups please

Confirmed.

A 235/40 for up front is another common option that will fit, its a little shorter profile and a little wider, so the end result is a bit more bias to front grip, which many appreciate if your outfitting an ap2. Otherwise yeah the 225/45-255/40 stagger is great.

Yeah and that first list the front tire is way to tall and the rear is taller than stock as well. If you run a 245 you want a 40 series sidewall no matter if it is in the front of rear of the car. 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 is the better choice for these as the first sizes are over sized for the wheels.

I run 275/40/17 on the back and I love them. Significantly much more grip compared to a 255/40/17. You can run a 275 on a 9 inch wide rim just fine. 275 have a rim range of 9-11. Yes it will bulge but no more than a 255 on a stock 8.5" rim.

I couldn't wait to get these wheels off my car.

Previous owner fit them for what reasons I still can't figure out. They don't even look good to me. If you can find my old "for sale" ad the tire size that fit under my stock wheel wells may be included.

This is $1200+ a set of 4? Plus $800 for the tires? We all have different priorities on what to spend on what.

So the 275/40's do fit. Did u have to roll the fenders or modify anything? What are ur wheels specs including offset. And can u post pics so i can see them please!

Edit: so just looked up stock ap2 wheels. 17x8.5 on 245/40's all around.... so on the wheels i posted at the top,im thinkin 255/40 up front and 275/40 out back....possible? And please keep in mind, this is a street car, only racing i'll do is occassional 1/4 mile track, and street racing... in mexico ofcourse. ; )

And chuck,i like the tire fitment in that pic, not the wheels, but the tire sizing looks good 2 me

Those are RPF1 - completely different wheel. It looks like convex (width 8.5" or less) front and rear which I agree is not a good look.

Bottom line - 225/45, 255/40 is the best fitment for these wheels. If you want wider tires, get wider wheels.
