First off there are no steel wheels to fit this car. I also think the handling is going to be bad with the Q speed rated tires and the 205/55R16 all the way around. Plus take a look at all of the extras they charge with the packages. Mounting with the Hunter GSP9700 is an extra 10.00 per package. Lug nuts and rings are extra as well. We don't charge anything for these things. Plus we have tires that are better suited for the car.
If i can help let me know.
Thank you

Sorry about the last submit, I hit submit before I was done.

Ace: I am looking for to understand why different brands are priced different, are there really differences in the tires, or are they just not market well

Jim:

1) The Semperits are T rated, 118 Miles, . is that still bad, and if yes why?

2) Why are there no steel wheels for this car?

3) why is 205/55 bad for winter tires? Isn't that the OEM for the fronts. .

4) Are the specs for the Tires at Tire Rack different?

tire rack offers many packages well suited for the S. i suggest that you also check out www.etires.com, they offer nokian's which, in my opinion, are the best snow tire on the market. keep an eye on ebay for a second set of oem S wheels.

steel wheels, although very well suited for winter snow tire mounting, most likely do not come in sufficient width to accomodate the rears on an S.

a dedicated set of snowd (wheels and tires) is not an inexpensive proposition for the S. expect to spend $500 to $600 for a set of used S wheels and $150 to $175 per snow tire.

btw-if you drive primarily on dry (not snow covered/packed) roads you should be aware that most of the modern snow tires are going to burn up pretty quickly, at least the really soft rubber that gives such good traction in the winter.

Ace10:

I agree. My reasons for steel wheels + decent (not the best) winter tires is b/c in areas I live

it usually does not snow much,
it gets cleared failry quickly,
and it only last a few months (5 at most).

the offer I saw at discount tires was about $600 for Semperit snow tires + steel wheels, + the lug nuts etc. But they are 205/55R-16 T B which Jim says is really bad for the car? That's why I am confused.

First off there are no steel wheels for the car because Honda does not sell the car with a steel wheel option. There is also no steel wheels with enough offset for the car. The wheel we sell for a given car are OE for the car.
The difference in prices are due to the different levels of snow tires. Your car with a T speed rated tire is not going to handle very well. If you are willing to give up all handling then it will work. I don't think the 205/55R16 all the way around is a good thing.

The tire sizes would be the same as OE. Both the Blizzak and the Winter Sport are H speed rated. They are more Euorpean in design with good handling in both wet, dry and snow.
If I can help let me know.

my two cents say that snow tires, especially the blizzaks and others with soft rubber compound, are gonna get eaten up pretty quickly on the dry roads. i've had them and seen it happen. once you get past the "good" rubber you're stuck with a pretty crappy tire. that's why i have been suggesting the nokians. they're "snowflake on the mountain" rated but don't have the multicell rubber. they're made to survive on dry roads AND snow covered surfaces.

imho- the wheels are your biggest problem. start looking on ebay and s2ki for a spare set asap.

good luck.
