Default Tires For Least Harsh Ride

The S2000 handles beautifully but the ride can be harsh for long trips. Without sacrificing too much in handling, are there any tires that will make the ride less harsh.

You might try an all season tire instead of a steel belted high performance tire with stiff sidewalls. Also, check your air pressure. Too much air pressure can make your fillings fall out. 32 psi cold is what you want.

Avon M500. Even my wife could tell the difference when I had them. 280 treadwear so not bad in the handling dept either

Hankook Z212 RS2's are quite smoove, esp. for a high-perf tire.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 gives a nice ride quality without sacrificing too much performance. I've had the Avon's on my bimmer and they don't wear well IMO (but they don't cost much to replace either though).

On the AP1 I like the Breidgestone RE750. They are also one of the longest wearing tires in the 16" for the car.
If I can help let me know.

I notice on the tirerack.com site that Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position were rated number one - are the ones you mention a better choice.

Thanks to everyone else who responded - I am doing some traveling and do not always have internet access

RE960s are rated number one for UHP All-Season tires.

All-seasons are inferior to Summer tires for warm weather wet or dry performance. If you don't drive in snow, you don't want all-season tires.

Do not have snow.

How does the "harshness" of the ride of the RE750 compare with the the RE960. What about how long the tread wear. Looking for a tire with a less harsh ride knowing that I will lose some in handling.

Also, would not mind a little better tread wear - the high performance tires seem not to last as long.
