Default Tires sizes on MY02 wheels

Sup guys,

What are the sizes that I should go for when purchasing new tires for maximum grip on wet, dry, and snow conditions?

Also, should I go with all season or strictly winter tires? I don't plan on getting bew tires for summer, at least not now anyways... so should I go with a all season tire?

If I upsize in the back, should I upsize the front by the same numbers?

Thanks guys... You everyone has been great with advice for getting me up to speed on my car.

Stay with the OE tire sizes if you need some snow traction. I would say if you are looking for maximum traction you won't find it in an all season tire in any condition. The all season will allow you to run the same tire year round but they will not be very good in any condition.
If you go that way I would suggest the Pirelli P Zero Nero M/S.
If i can help let me know.

I am looking for a decent tire to drive all year round as I live in Chicago, and the weather here is so unpredictable. I am also curious why some people say that if you get winter tires you should get the same size all around.

Thanks,
Den

If you want all season stay with the OE tire sizes. What the 205/55R16 will give you is better snow traction. The narrower tire will get more pounds per square inch on the contact patch. It will also cut through the snow easier. For Chicago I would still stagger the tires. You just don't get enough snow to give up the performance.
If I can help let me know.

Ok, what tires would you recommend? I am thinking of going with winter tires and then getting some performance tires for the summer. Since I have heard so many bad things about all season tires. Pretty much people have said they are barely good for any season.
