Default Track AP1 Rim & tires

Ok.. ive been reading the sticky posts and trying to do all the calculations but its the end of the work day and my mind has quit and gone to shit... not to mention hurt like a mofo.

I am looking to get a set of track rims for my AP1 and would like to convert to 17's, unless somoene can give me a good reason to stick with 16's (outside of rotational mass... looking at lightweight rims to pickup).

What would be an optimal setup in 17's for an AP1 for the track?. That is Front Rim width, offset and tire size, and same for the rears?

would that setup keep the handeling balance similar to stock, give me more understear, more understear or make it more of a neutral handeling (saying that I have the same exact tire type on both sets))

What would be an optimal setup in 16's for an AP1 for the track? and same question to the handeling?

I'd say match the stagger of the AP1. So 215/245 or 225/255.

ok good. But my question also included rim widths and offsets.

what are optimal rim widths and offsets (in both 16" and 17" rims) which would be optimum for the track?

This is covered in a sticky at the top of this section.

I have looked at the sticky and i cant find the answer. All i can find is what the stock size should be on an ap1 or ap2.

so are you trying to say that sticking the stock ap2 setup on an ap1 is correct?

im sorry.. just cant find this information which i need in any of the 3 stickies.

I would like to take my AP1 up to 17" for the track and need to know which is a proper setup...

i mean are we talking 215/45/17 F 245/45/17 R.. what are the proper offsets to keep things in tact

The other sticky...

Scroll down a bit, there is a list of max tire size given width and offset.

I'd opt to stay with 16s ... Never failed me and I wouldn't upsize regardless.

16 x 7 (+35)
16 x 8 (+45)

Apart from having the ability to run BBK, you can run factory tyre sizes right up to 225/245 whilst retaining the stiff tyrewall required for proper handling. The light rims will always no doubt stop better and provide a more fed steering response.

Forged aluminum or magnesium ... That'd be up to your budget.
