Default trackday setup

i'm thinking about this trackday tire setup :

front : advan a038 225/50/16
rear : advan a038 245/45/16

any comment ?

stiffer sway-bar like tanabe is needed ?

regards,
claudio

The 225/245 is effectively a reduced front/rear stagger, more tread up front, than stock. That gives more static oversteer than stock. IMO a little too much oversteer, but that's really driver preference. I run that stagger, but have a stiffer front swaybar. A custom wheel alignment and tire pressures are also other tools to adjust the oversteer/understeer balance.

Other effects of the wider front is more rubber = more braking capability on the front, which increases rear brake bias, which makes the car slightly more unstable under braking than stock. This isn't really that big of a deal since most cars have extra front brake bias for safety, which gives some margin for changing the brake bias rearward. Wider fronts also increases steering effort, but that doesn't matter because you got power steering.

Why would you want to increase the tire size up front? then having to counter the effect by stiffening the rear sway? Just doesn't make any sense to me.
