Marc - just curious, what makes you "not much of a fan"? I'm probably in the same boat as you - they are the right size and offset, but aren't shockingly good looking or lightweight (lighter than stock but not by much).

I have a set in now that are being painted (track wheels) but was thinking of picking up a second set for str-autox/street duty. They are just so cheap and the right size!

Also may I ask what suspension setup you have? I just plan on running stock CR springs/shocks, comptech FSB (the one you sold me) on full stiff or 2nd most stiff, and max camber...probably 0 toe. Hopefully that will be neutral or close enough to it.

I don't like the styling much. Longer, bolder, and cleaner lines (like the OEM CR (AP2v3) wheels) set it off IMO where these look a bit small. Obviously this is personal preference though.

I think they would look much better if the spokes extended to the outside edge of the lip, the paint had a high gloss (they look flat in person), and the center cavity was more flush with the rest of the wheel. The center cap is really cheap and will fall off at some point. The OEM Honda caps are too large to fit, otherwise I would use them. I don't like the fact that they are gravity casts, but the price justifies that.

Still, they are a cheap wheel and priced well. The 949s are assumed to be all around better IMO, but $80 more per wheel ($320 for a set) and not yet available. My goal was to try STR locally with these and upgrade if I get more serious about the class, keeping these as my backup set.

Currently, I'm prepped for B-Stock. The only mod for STR will be the wheels/tires. The current setup is...

-08 CR "delete"
-TR C3/Hankook 255/40/17 RS3s (full tread)
-Gendron 1.375 FSB (set 3/6)
-TC Kline DA Shocks (set 50% compression and rebound)

-Custom Alignment...
-2 Camber Front (limited driver front at -1.7)
-2.25 Camber Rear
Maxed Caster
1/16 total toe-out front
1/16 total toe-in rear

Hope this helps give another perspective.

-Marc

They (wheel/tire combo) are about the same weight (maybe a little lighter) as the OEM fronts with the tires. They are much lighter than the OEM rears with tires. This was measured only by picking them up, so I could be slightly off. Having changed many wheels and tires over the last 5 years for auto-x events, I'm becoming pretty good at guessing these weights.

Why would you replace CR rims with those?

Because CR rims are too narrow and staggered.

So these wheel come with hub centric rings for the front and rear, or just the front?

A pair for teh front and a pair for the rear. The wheels have the same bore, the rings make up the difference.

With 255/40-17s Hankook RS3s mounted the C3s are 46lbs, stock fronts with 215 RE70s are 44lbs, the stock rear wheels with 255/40-17 RE70s are 48lbs each. These weight are on my scales at work and might not be perfectly accurate but give a good comparison between stock CR wheels and the C3 wheels
