Default Very Happy With Dunlop DZ101s

I replaced the OEM tires (Bridgestone) about 3K miles ago.
The Dunlops hold the road well and don't make too much road noise either. I think the tread pattern is good for hydroplane prevention, something important to me.
I found the price reasonable too.

I have them slightly overinflated, but don't tell anyone

I actually got a really bad impression from mine. I'm running stock 225 on the rear of mine right now with star specs up front and they hold no grip at all when it is wet, and are really sqealy under spirited driving. The price is good, but I almost wish I had sprung the extra $100 for the star specs now

If you like them though, you should stick with them! They have a good enough treadwear, and for all the grief I give them, they do have a decent amount of grip in the dry.

It's good that you're happy, but they aren't exactly stellar-performing tires, even compared against other "ultra high performance" (i.e., a step down from OEM maximum performance) tires from five years ago: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...ay.jsp?ttid=97

let's not confuse Z1 and Z101.
Z1 is very good performance tyre. wich also last quite long.
Z101 is "allright" tyre designed for family sedans.

nothing wrong with that - but they're in different categories and excels in different areas.

i personally didnt like the dz101 (the cheaper version of the z1's) mostly because the S felt unstable especially when changing lanes. i had them installed in the rear (2255016) and i called the tire place asap and they said "give it some time to wear in". after about 2 more weeks of unstable driving the tire place was able to exchange my dz101's for new z1's. of course i payed the difference. anyways, they returned them to tire rack where they get their tires from and i was very happy. now thats true customer satisfaction!!! thanks (American Tire & Auto Care 3275 Quakerbridge Road Mercerville, NJ 08619.-(609) 588-5555). awesome guys! dealt with them for about 10 years.

Had that tire and hated it. Very soft sidewall, and grip was horrible. Currently on HTZ III and even this cheap tire is much much better.

Really? I used to have a set on my prelude. Never again will I buy these tires. They break loose easily in the wet and I have even had the back step out on me while turning onto a street. But if u like them then good for u man

Maybe I like them because I overinflate them and rarely drive when it isn't dry? I also drive sanely. LOL

Had these tires before and can echo most of the sentiment in the thread. Thought I would try and save, tires on the S are definitely not the place to try and save 150$, for the most part these tires took away much of the spirited drive experience. Found them very bouncy (soft sidewall does not compliment even the stock suspension) and boy do they break away fast in the wet. For what they are billed as, they do the job however. Just the wrong type of tire for the S imo.
