[QUOTE=xviper,Aug 28 2006, 07:22 PM] I'd rather not stick my neck out and say one way or the other.

Good question. There are alot of people on here running those wheels with a drop.........I am waiting for my rims and am planning the same. I was informed long ago that I would have no problem rubbing with 17 X 7.5 +50 and 17 x 9 +63. What do you guys think about that........What have some of you done as far as alignment or mods to correct the rubbing if you have any???????????????

Agreed, there are quite a few people on here that run this same setup, and have had the rubbing issue. It seems they have tweaked it by either going with a more aggressive camber adjustment up front, or triming the inside of the wheel well, removing the plastic liner etc.

Interesting..I just purchased the falken 615s 225/45/17F with a 235/40/17R (as suggested for an S2K with 17's on their Time Attack chart...I stress this is just their suggestion not anything set in stone, so I don't want to hear anything)

They haven't come in yet but interested to hear you are rubbing with a +50 offset. On my wedsports I'm running a +43 F offset and I've only rubbed once and that was on dragon at the apex of a hard right going uphill. I might not be as low as you though, I'm running koni yellows with KGMM race springs.

The tire setup I just purchased is something new to me though, I usually run a 215/45/17 F and a 245/40/R. So I can't wait to see if I notice a difference in handling at...good or bad.

The problem with will something rub or not is that not every tire and every car is the same. Some tires are wider than others and may rub. Sometimes it is the camber that is more positive and it may rub. I would say with the 17X7.5 ET50 an alignment would help but you may still need to roll the fender lips.
Just remember when you are pushing the envelope that you have to try things to make sure.

Stupid me...

Turns out my tire wasn't rubbing at all! It ended up being the small black plastic piece under the front bumper lip. I was finding it strange when going over bumps that it would "rub", but only when I went down sloped like bumps in the road. When I would get home, or where ever I was going, I would feel under the wheel well, and nothing was damged which made it odd, and got me thinking. Sure enough I look at the plastic piece under the bumper lip and you could tell it had made contact with the road recently.

Thanks again to all for your help. Looks like im fine after all.

That's a typo, right? The 225 & 255 in that tire are both 25.0" in diameter going from memory. My 245/275 setup is ~ 25.7" if my recollection is correct. And that is a noticeable difference. The 275 fills up the wheel well nicely, while the 245 up front on 17x7.5 sticks out. Not worried about rubbing(stiff springs- 500F/550R), but I am worried about throwing rocks back along the body.

If I were to do it over, I'd go 225/255 and call it a day.
