Default VSA LIGHT!

The dealership called me and said that my VSA light is staying on due to the oversize tires and new wheels I put on. Is this true? If this is the case then isn't EVERYONE having this problem as well? Help me out guys!

215/40-18 (Front)
265/35-18 (Rear)

215/40R18 circumference 1919 mm dynamic radius 305 mm
265/35R18 circumference 1960 mm dynamic radius 312 mm
That's more than a 2% difference.

Narrow rims in the front and wide rims in the rear might even add some more to that too.

If you'd have taken 215/45R18 with circumference 1985 mm and radius of 316 mm instead, you would have been 'closer' size wise. You might have been misinformed by your tire specialist.

Take care,

Siepel

hmm thats some what bull shit because the VSA is a stability control it measures the tire speed in reference to left/right then front/rear.

So if your fronts rotate faster than the rear it won't kick in but if your left and right tires spin at different speeds then it will think one wheel is slipping triggering ABS and VSA....

I am running 225-40-18 and 265-35-18 i have also used 215-45-17 and 255-40-17, my track set is 215-40-18 and rear is 265-35-18.

i didn't have a single VSA light problem unless i manually pressed the switch. have they checked the circut and see if the switch is not grounded off?

Negative.

They didn't even bother shooting wires or anything! They just assume it was the rims and tires and called it a day. I'm headed to another dealership for sure!
