Default What wheels for my power output

Hi, for 300-350whp range what wheel setup is recommended for optimal performance and handle? I'm currently on 18's and I dislike it. I heard 17's are the way to go would 17x8 +45 front and 17x9 +45 be a good setup? Thanks.

Tire choices will reflect how the car handles over a specific wheel size/tire size... But yes those wheel sizes are perfect with a 225 tire up front and 255 in the rear. Will need to roll the fenders, tab relocate and all that good stuff...

Agree, but depending on the ride height/alignment specs he may not need to do much at all. Stock ride height tolerates a 17x9 +45 very well in my experience.

Why do I feel like we keep reinventing the wheel here?

This is only because of the excessive amount of suspension travel. If it compressed enough it will still rub and cause issues. Not to mention it looks pretty crappy.

OP as others said tire choice matters more here however you didn't give us info on what the car is used for. Is it just a street car? Only track? Some mixture of both? Besides the increased power what else is done to the car? Already rolled fenders? What are the current wheel and tire specs?

Thanks everyone for your valuable input.

So it is just a street car. The car has coilovers, the tires are 225x18x35 and 255x18x35 rear i don't know too much about the wheels. Oh and it's on megan coilovers.

Hm. Ok. Well your front tires should be 225/40/18's not a 35 side wall. Are your fenders rolled already?
