Well the guide says +58 or more for a 235 on the front, but you're only 3mm under that... depending on what tire you choose you might be OK. The rear should be fine but you are at the minimum with +65. I would consider a 275 rear, especially since you will only have a 235 in front. That's a lot of stagger.

Cheers,
Ken

I just got the Basalt wheels by ROXWHEELS.com and they are 18x8.5 chrome. Anyways all four wheels came the same width and i know we should use staggered but i got a great deal and want to see if i can get them to work, there are two good tires (new) and two that need replaced, the two new ones im gonna keep on the front. They are 225 40 18's and the rear i was going to put a 265 35 18 . Does anyone know if this size and setup will work. I'm trying to find out the offset for it as well. It looks like on the back it says ET 15 or it's an ET 75, not sure so i emailed the company. Its for my 2002 S2K. ANYONE with any info please let me know! Thanks !

If they are 8.5 inches wide, then the offset is most likely 15, which is never going to fit the S2000. Not in a million years.

You might consider buying wheels AFTER you determine if they will fit or not.

you say that the readings were from stock height and stock alignment. What if you have the car dropped from 1 to 1.5" and -1.7 in the front and -2.5 in the rear. Going with a 17" rim, say 7.5 or 8" wide in the front and 9 in the rear, what offset and tire size would work which does not rub under hard suspension compression. I prefer not to roll my fenders, but i suppose if it has to be done, it has to be done.

Well, the guide was written based on data from cars that were not lowered.

When you lower a car, presumably you get an alignment.

When you re-align a lowered car, you may choose to get a factory alignment or you may choose a more aggressive alignment.

Because of this, clearance between the tires and fenders may change.

So... you'll have to do some searching on the forum.

Either way, lowering the car will give you less clearance to the fender over bumps... after all.. you reduced your suspension travel. If you don't have stiff enough springs and dampers and the car hits the bump stops, the chance of rubbing is increased.

Talk to rijowysock... he has a lot of experience on aggressive fitments on lowered cars.

Regards,
Ken

Hello Folks,

I found wheels and what about the tyres?

Front : 18x8.0 ET48 Tyre :215 ? or 225 ?
Rear : 18x8.0 ET48 Tyre : 235 ? or 245 ?

I want to lower the car so I presume to get the smal tyre 215 in the front and for the rear 245 or am I wrong ?

Sporty regards,
Tom

i know u guys already put all the info up on the first page but i just still wanted to double check with you guys. Would an 18x8.5 with a 225/40r18 for the front and a 18x9.5 with a 265/35r18 for the rear with all +45 offset be okay if the fenders were rolled or would it just not be possible to run. Also would 225's in the front be okay or would 235 be a better choice. Thanks alot!

I have 225/35-19 on front and fit just right without rubbing, dont go 235, a 225 is a big enough jump for the front, u want to keep the sizes apart so they stay "staggered". The rear i have a 19x8.5 wheel with a 265 wide tire and fits great but i have an offset of +60 on rear so not sure on ur rear tire, but front i would say is a Go. Hope this helped
