Default Wheel Selection Help Please

So the question of the day is this.

1.The Motegi Track Light Rims. +42 is the offset and does anyone know how this will work witht he S2000 or is there a better choice around the $300 dollar mark per rim? I want something lighter than the stock wheels.

2.What offsets have any of you found to be working out the best and what is recommended to stay away from?

3.What is the stock weight of the S rims?

Thank You all in advance and I am sure if I searched for twenty minutes I might be able to find some answers but thank you for repeating youselfs if this happens.

I will answer your questions. A 42mm offset wheel is not very good on the car. You are going to stick out of the wheel well. The best offset depends on what you are looking for and what size tires you want to use. With a narrower tire you can go to lower offset wheels. The higher the offset you can go with wider tires. The offset should be around 50mm front and around 55 to 65 rear again depending on the width of the wheel.
The stock wheels are 18lbs front and 19lbs rear. Wheels like the SSR will be lighter than stock but they are going to be more money. The lightest weight wheel we have at the best price is the Shuk WR1 and they are 239.00 front in 17X8 and 289.00 rear in 17X9.

If I can help let me know.

Thank You both for the helpful information. This will make my wheel and tire choices an educated decision because most places just say that it will fit and not go over the consequences. It looks like I want to use a 225 front and I think a 255 rear. I will have to look at the tread balance but haven't done so at this time. I am thinking of the toyo R-1 or yokohama Ao32R for tires at the moment and haven't even gone as far to see if they even make those sizes yet. Still on the ground floor.

Thanks
again,

Chris
