When should I swap for my snow tires?
Currently live in Chicago. I just snagged a set of Blizzak WS60s on some Momo wheels.
We've had a few freak days of 60+ temperatures lately, but from what I'm seeing it'll be highs in the mid-50s from this point forward.
My car is running on the OEM RE050 tires, and I can tell they're not doing so well on the cold pavement. When should I switch to the WS60s? I've been told that once the highs are consistently in the mid-40s or lower, you should put winter tires on (or you risk wearing them down quickly).
Thoughts?

I try to change a week or two before Thanksgiving. I did get caught at work once on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and we got about 5" of snow. It took me 45 minutes to get home and I live about 2 miles from work. They are calling for snow this weekend in South Bend.

Yep, looks like I'm doing them this weekend. I don't think we'll be back up above 50 until April....grrr.

I shoot for Hallowen in chi-town. We had a mild one this year, so I put my Blizzaks on the first week of November.
Keep in mind if the road is even slightly damp, your @ss end will be insanely easy to whip around. Fun for sure, but if your new to te S in the winter, test it out a bit in a parking lot first.

Got them on over the weekend.
Man...steering response is sluggish on the big sidewalls and this rubber compound. Car is definitely not as stable.
Went with Blizzak WS60, 205/55R16 front, 225/50R16 rear.
