Default White ap1 rims

Hey guys.. I saw an s2000 with white ap1 rims and really liked the look. Can somebody point me me in the direction of how I go about getting them white. What's the best way? And how much would it cost. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I painted my ap1 rims white this winter cause I was bored.

Since I had already painted them black, i first sanded them (by hand) which took forever. Then I just spraypainted them with 2 or 3 light coats and allowed plenty of time to dry in between. turned out pretty good to me.

if you want a serious paint job, take them to get powdercoated. i know the place by me does it for like 60 a wheel. powdercoating is a stronger finish than the stock look and will not chip

sorry for the crappy quality, nighttime shots with my iphone

its hard to tell but the front wheel (sitting in front of the wheel thats on the car) is white and the rear wheel is the stock silver.
some other guy had an idea to paint the inside of the spokes white in the AP2V2 wheels and it looked really cool, not as good looking on the ap1 but still unique. it took me an hour to do it like that (taping and all) so i will not be doing them all like that haha

i painted a set of ap1's white for around $30 in paint/tape/primer/sandpaper ect. but i did LOTS of coats of paint and clear ect.

i had my set of ap2's powdercoated, most placed were wanting like $90 a wheel and i found a place that did it for $45

Painting looks good if you do it right (take the time to sand a lot, put clear on ect) however is very hard to clean. i went 3 weeks without cleaning my painted wheels and couldn't get several stains off after an hour of working at it. Maybe could have with more work but it was just very hard and lots of scrubbing. With my powdercoated wheels i just take a damp rag and anything comes off just by wiping it down, no work at all. Totally work the money, because white gets dirty FAST

2 cans of duplicolor, one can of primer, sandpaper and tape. Pretty cheap to do.

Depends on the shop and how much you wanna pay. The guy that did mine said that most places are over twice is price because they sandblast them ect. but he said he just pressure washes them with hot water and it works fine. It doesn't get out any scrapes or whatever but if your wheels are in good shape you don't need to worry about it.

i'm sure you could save money by sanding it yourself though.
