Why run 225/45/17 in front?
What's the purpose that they run 45 profile tires in the front, instead of 40.
Any disadvantage or handling alteration on a 225/40/17 set up in the front?
Any feedback is appreciated... Take Care.

eMokhtarian:
It has to do with using a wider tire on the back.
To keep the overall diameters about the same and the RPM about the same, a larger profile must be used on the front.
Stock size
215/45/17 RPM 840 Outside diameter 24.8"
245/40/17 RPM 847 Outside diameter 24.6"
Lower profile
215/40/17 RPM 875 Outside diameter 23.8"

Who's "they"?
The idea is "mostly" to approximate the OEM wheel/tire diameter and "partly" for looks. A 40 aspect ratio here would make for a smaller diameter. This changes the way the car turns (maybe a little better turn in and perhaps a little less lateral grip) and it makes for more space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender.
