You are running the widest that will work.

Hi, I was wondering, what's the advantage of running wider tires to being with?

Thanks,

For autoX you can run wider. I run a 275/40-17 Hoosier in the rear and 245/40-17 front. But the fit is not ideal and I run 225/255 on the street.

can you run 245 / 275 street tires for an auto-X street tire class, and would that create an advantage?

S2000 basically is either AS or with any mods it is BSP. It is a very good AS car but will get killed in BSP.

225/255 should work fine for street and autoX as well. I would prefer to run a 225/45 and 255/40 Hoosier A6 but they do not make the 255/40 size so I used the 245/275 combo.

<--- 2007 SCCA BSP East and West Coast Points Champ of Florida. on Street Tires. RE01Rs.

We have a gentleman's rule in Florida for S2Ks to only run street tires, we may get a STU2 classification next year. Pesky Evo's on R-comps have beaten us. Anyway, will I get a competitive advantage running larger street tires? 245 /275? or is the reason for running larger hoosiers because the 255 is unavailable?

235 is too big for the front. You could run a 265 in the back though with no problem.

A-Stock Autocrosser's winning formula has been 245/275 Hoosiers on stock AP2 wheels. The tires should fit, but would street tires of the same size create a competitive advantage in a street tire class?
