I dont mind cutting the plastic lining to avoid rubbing. If I did that would I eliminate the rubbing issue with the 225/40s and 52 offset? Because I dont want it to perform well

I have 18x8.5 with 225's +51 in the front and I dont rub. Im lowered as well... might be the tires im using though.

Might be the "aspect ratio" of your tires.

The Toyo T1S is very..what do you call it... lowered friendly lol. The sidewalls allow you to run a little bit more aggressive offsets. I am pretty sure I would rub with some squared off sidewalls like the Yoko Es100's.

BTW ive taken my car through a course.. no rubbing!
