Default Will These fit

Okay guys i have a question. First i just wanna say i dont know jack about tires size and rim offset, so i kinda need some help here.

I am getting some rims for the car they are a gift to me i dont know what kind but they are free. any ways they will come with Kumo Supra 712's on them

18x8 with a 45 offsett

Front 225/40/18

Rear 255/35/18

Does anyone know if they will fit or rub or even mess with the spedometer?

Help,

Moron

No! You Moron, Sorry had to do it. Are both front and rear wheels 18x8? Are you lowered? It's not the ideal offset for this car.

The car will look like a 4x4 on stock height with those wheels, but you should be able to get away with it. It's not ideal and rubbing will occur on big bumps, but mostly you'll be ok. I wouldn't recommend it though.

so if i go that route than your sayin that it will raise the car??? i thought that would be okay due to the lower profile of tires. are you saying that i should lower it if i shoose those rims

Going the route that you have mentioned will not "raise the car".........the tire sizes that you listed above are the correct in order to maintain the propper overall diameter of the wheel / tire combo.

The part that is being questioned is the wheels are both the same width...........8"

The S2000 is designed to have a staggered front to rear wheel design to compensate for the car's willingness to oversteer........(be tail happy)........so a better setup might be ........for example: 8" wheel in front..........9" wheel in the rear........

The second issue is the offset............a +45 is not the most desireable when running a 255 tire in the rear. Or a 225 tire in the front for that metter. This could create rubbing issues if you were to lower the car.......go over a large bump......hit a dip in the road..........while cornering hard under load etc........

If this is true what is the stock spec on a 2000 model and to use the 18's that I am getting would it not theareticaly be wider due to the 255's on the rear vs. 225 on the front.

I never knew this would be this much of a problem when choosind rims for the S2K

As I mentioned before..........the tire sizes that you have selected are correct........
1. They maintain the propper overall diameter.....
2. They are staggered propperly from front to rear.......

The problem is not with the TIRE SIZE you have selected......It is the +45 offset of the wheel in in conjunction with the tire widths.........

The tire sizes .....when mounted on the +45 Offset wheel.......will stick out past the fender or very flush to it. This may create rubbing problems for you when turning hard.....etc...as mentioned above....especially if you decide to lower your car.

Do what ever you like...........it's your car.
